The Perfect Online Photo Contest Picture
Most parents realize that submitting their child’s picture to a
online
photo contest is a great way to get their child discovered. Or at the very
least win some great prizes like $700 worth of U.S. treasury bonds and a
photo portrait session. But exactly what makes a great online photo contest
submission?
Here are some ideas to think about when you are trying to decide what
picture you should submit to a online kids photo contest.
Judges like to see your child’s face. So make sure that the picture is
large enough for the judges to get a good view. Crop the picture so your
child’s face is the main item in the photograph you submit to the child or
baby photo contest.
The judges want to be able to see your child’s personality in the picture.
So catch your child when they are awake. The judges are looking for that
something special and a happy smiling face is important. CuteKid judge Jacque
Pedersen of Maier Management says, “I like to see smiles and children laughing
but a great surprise look or other comical look also works.”
The eyes are the “window to the soul” and online photo contest judges like to
see that special twinkle. So make sure that your child’s eyes are the focal point
of the picture.
When you
submit photos to a kid photo contest, make sure that your child is the
only one in the picture. Judges don’t want to be distracted. They want to see your
child. For that reason you should limit the amount of props used in the photo.
Keep the clothing simple, basic colors work best. You will also want to eliminate
unnecessary background.
Most of all you want to give a kid online photo contest judge a reason to click
on your child’s picture and see it enlarged. So make sure that the photo you choose
leaps off the page enough to grab the judge’s attention.
